Compared to a Tiny House, Pop Cottage satisfies regulations and provides a more usable floor plan layout as well as being better insulated and easier to heat and cool. Compared to kit comes, Pop Cottage is finished, its not just the cost of the materials and Pop Cottage installs in a week or so, whereas a kit home becomes a messy building site over at least several months. And kit homes are basically the cheapest materials you can buy, Pop Cottage has double glazed windows to keep you comfortable, engineered stone benchtops, molded bathpod floor with no wet corners. Electricals and plumbing is included and fitted and other qualities that if included in kit homes would dramatically increase their advertised price.
If you are comparing prices, please recognise that this building is assembled and complete. A kit home price is just for the materials and there are many exclusions. A tiny house on the other hand is not built to satisfy regulations, no engineer has assessed whether it complies with the National Construction Code.
This particular Gordon Pop Cottage is the one we built for the Tiny House Expo which, due to the coronavirus lifestyle changes, did not take place.
Price
$39,000 including GST
This price includes the above specification. The kitchen fitted out, bathroom fitted out and internal electrics and lighting installed, walls painted, etc. So there shouldn't be anything else needed inside other than to give your personal touch.
This is a special price for this high quality specification, due to the impact the coronavirus has made on all our plans.
Delivery and Installation
Approximately $10,000
This will depend on the distance to site and location site conditions, sloping or hard ground, preferred cladding, any special BAL requirements, etc.
This is a fully compliant building, satisfying all the National Construction Code regulations and council regulations for a permanent ancillary building. It differs from a Tiny House in that regard.
