What next? Check your building site and situation
For your building site, please determine the following classifications. This will allow us to issue the appropriate documentation. These considerations will also influence not the price of the building, but the cost of installation, so its a good idea to look at these questions early in our conversations. Thank you.
1 Climate Zone
Determine the Climate Zone by studying the map at this link from the Australian Government website.
Climate Zone ______
Pop Cottage meets the requirements of all Climate Zones, given correct orientation and shading and supplementary insulation for the Alpine Zone.
2 Bush fire attack level
Determine the Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) by referring to information on this link, which comes from the Victorian Government Building Commission website.
Bushfire Attack Level ______
Pop Cottage comes without cladding, so you can fit the cladding as dictated by your BAL rating. Pop Cottage is standard with aluminium windows and 6mm glazing, with metal insect screens to resist ember attack.
3 Wind Classification
Determine the wind classification. There are several guides from manufacturers; here are two: Stratco; Lysaght.
Wind Classification ______
Pop Cottage satisfies Wind Classification up to N3 and with specified additions, up to Cyclone Wind Classification C2.
