Engineering
This is a fully compliant building, satisfying the Australian National Construction Code regulations and council regulations for a permanent ancillary building.
Our building rests lightly on the ground. We can install it and take it away without a trace. It installs like a permanent house, it is solid, safe and secure. But if you decide later that you want to take it away or sell it, it can fold up and be taken away on a tray truck to where you or someone else might need it. Flexible, responsive and saving money.
Pop Cottage has all the certification and compliance paperwork completed to meet the National Construction Code. There is no concern about building strongly and safely that can arise with a Tiny House or modified shipping container.
Engineering - done!
Pop Cottage meets engineering certification for nearly all of Australia. Wind Region A in blue is generally satisfied by our certification to Wind Classification N3 and the northern coastal regions by our certification to Wind Classification C2. We can build in the red Region D if you have a treed, flat site.

Energy performance - done!
Pop Cottage complies with energy regulations in all Australia's Climate Zones. No matter which climate zone you are in, your Pop Cottage will be a comfortable temperature with minimal energy costs. Unlike with a Tiny House or modified shipping container, where concerns can arise about being energy efficient and comfortable, the Pop Cottage complies with the energy standards of the NCC. All you need do is point the building to the sun, and add the appropriate external shading according to which Climate Zone you are in.

- Ancillary path: If your shire council has planning regulations that apply to your land, we classify the Pop Cottage as an ancillary building. Usually that means that no planning permit is needed if you locate the Pop Cottage near a house.
- Not a permanent building: We can deliver on a skid, ready to be taken away on a tray truck. But we can still install removable foundations so the Pop Cottage is properly secure.
- Delivery on wheels: We don't do this at present, but if it is important to you, please talk to us about it as our scoping indicates it will be feasible.
